First trip to Chuck E Cheese's

First trip to Chuck E. Cheese's!
Every kid has to go to this classic American staple at some point in his/her life. Heck, I remember countless hours spent there, cheating at games, getting tons of tickets, and ending up with fluorescent shoelaces.
.
So we decided to check it out and see what they have to offer to the little itty bitty ones...
.
Sierra was initially overwhelmed by the sheer volume (number and noise) of kids at the place (it was a Friday night after all). She slowly warmed up and tried a couple rides.

Her very very very favorite was this tiny little merry-go-round. We couldn't get her off of it!

Stuffing her with some pizza while she's on the ride. Because she wouldn't sit down at the table to eat!

Fun times!

La Jolla - Pelicans and Seals

La Jolla - Our favorite haunt
-
We took Cheryl there to enjoy some Coast Toast from Brockton Villa. Sierra enjoyed scribbling with a crayon and her chopped up strawberries and grapes (courtesy of Mommy) while we gobbled up our food!
.

Afterwards, we went to walk off our massive bellies...
Sierra spies the pelicans and was super excited! Waving her arms and going "Ka ka ka!" repeatedly.

Caught just a tiny bit of her bird imitation.

It's fun to be up so high!
Sportin' new sunglasses (that didn't last long)
Enjoying the soft grass near the cove. So soft, these bubbles just sat there forever.

Strutting around on the new lush grass.

Seal lions are perched on a different rock than usual
Sierra was talking to them and barking/imitating them. Got just a tidbit on video.

First pigtails

These pigtails lasted only long enough for me to snap a few shots. Oh well, they were cute for the entire couple of minutes they lasted...

Playing in the Sand

It was a beautiful sunny weekend and we stopped by La Jolla Shores to test out Sierra's new bucket and shovel. She's not the hugest fan of sand, but it's something she'll just have to get over as a California Girl.

Sierra being a good sport even though she wasn't feeling 100% that day.
What's Daddy doing?

Sierra putting the final touches on the sand castle.

Going for a walk to the water with Mommy.

Playing in the Pool

Sierra is not yet the fearless swimmer that we would like her to someday be. However, hopefully, she'll slowly get more comfortable with the pool and turn into a little fish one day.

In the meantime, she really enjoys her time in her "boat".

Playing with the speakers...

And dancing to music.

(Note: for a little girl who was actually really sick with a virus that weekend, she was remarkably happy)

Dinner at Outback

16 months + 1 week
Sierra enjoying her chicken strips and sweet potato fries at Outback (after inhaling more than half a loaf of their delicious bread!)...

She especially enjoys stuffing daddy's face!

Happily Snacking Away

Yes, it does seem like Sierra is eating all the time, huh?

That's because she's a bottomless pit!
Snacking at the park waiting for Daddy's jam session to end... Sierra and her big ol' bucket hat for her big ol' head...

Sierra and Lilly in La Jolla

Frolicking in La Jolla... near the Cove...

Lilly will make a GREAT big sister one day...

Learning to twirl?

1 day shy of 16 months
Sierra likes to"twirl" in the foyer while going "whooooooaaaaaaa"...
I wish she didn't like eating her shoes at the same time though.

Eating corn on the cob for the first time

Ignore the background conversation (we were discussing German foods and snail soup)

First Easter Egg Hunt

Every year, our community has a free Easter Egg Hunt for the community kids. It's a pretty overwhelming and crowded event!

Sierra attended for the first time and picked 5 eggs for her little pail.

Re-enacting for Mommy
