Swimming with Sea Lions

We had some visitors today and took them to La Jolla to visit the Cove. Dave and our friend, Tom, went swimming. They swam out to some rocks with sea lions on them. Seals are really common in the area. I think sea lions are less so, but I'm not totally sure about that. Need to do some googling.

Anyways, I told Dave to swim out closer to the creatures so I could take a good picture (see him waving?). They started barking at him.... After Dave swam out, I realized there were some smaller sea lions swimming around the rocks. Little did he realize he was swimming so close to them!

You know, I've been to Seal Beach before and never saw any there.

But if you want to see some, come down and I'll take you to the Children's Pool Beach in La Jolla (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Children%27s_Pool_Beach). They usually have lots of seals, although there haven't been many lately. Hmmmm.... Definitely come during pup season! So CUTE!
