Owls in 4S Ranch!

Dave and I just went for a short walk around our neighborhood. We heard coyotes yapping and howling in the distance and commented on how we hadn't seen one in a while. A few minutes later, we heard an unusual sound and followed it to the condos across the street from us. I looked up at the rooftops and saw an unusual protrustion. It looked too small to be a satellite. We stood under it for a while, I was convinced that it was an owl since owls are pretty common in San Diego. But we weren't sure since it had stopped hooting, wasn't moving, and the lighting was very poor.... But then it flew!

We followed it to some of our neighbors' homes and found there were 2 of them, perched on different chimneys hooting at each other. We watched them "talk" and fly from one spot to another, until we decided we had to go home and get ready for bed.

I love the wildlife here!

do you remember the big uproar over the hawks in NYC? I think they were hawks. Anyway, this reminds me of that but in a California way. Maybe they have a little nest up there. I like owls and Im sure they would like your hamsters.
